Swamp football will soon be recognized as an official sport! The ideal combination for those who like to exercise and be in nature.

Good news for everyone who loves sports and nature, soon you will be able to combine the two in a unique way. Swamp football is a sport that has been practised for longer than today, but soon Infinitum will make swamp football an official sport.
Alec Roberts is 22 and has been playing swamp football with his friends since he was 16 years old.Alec and his team used to look for young people in the surrounding villages who often played football in the surrounding swamps. And so they started unofficial football competitions and tournaments. “My team and I didn't think of recognizing this as an official sport at the time, we just did it for fun.” says Roberts.
Social media post explodes
Meanwhile, a few years later, Alec is still playing swamp football with his friends, and with the other teams that have joined their tournaments and leagues over the years. For years, swamp football was not acknowledged as an official sport, mainly because the sport was not known throughout Infinitum. "One evening, my friends and I decided, as a joke, to post something on social media in order to promote swamp football and have it declared an official sport.”The friends posted this as a joke, and were not prepared for their post to be shared more than 8 000 times. People reacted very well to the post and thought it was a uniquely original idea practise sports and be in nature.

Official approval by the Minister of
Sport
The Minister of Sport, Bryan Devis, also spotted the post on social media and contacted Alec Roberts personally. He, for his part, thought it was an original idea and since it received a lot of positive reactions, he wanted to sit down with Robers to see if swamp football could be declared an official sport in Infinitum. Not much later than that, the minister announced that swamp football will officially be recognized as a sport within a few weeks. "It's an original idea, and a unique experience, to let people play sports and in the meantime stay in the beautiful nature of Infinitum," says Minister Bryan Devis himself.

Will you soon be playing swamp football?
"Swamp football is actually the perfect combination of sports and nature," says Alec self. "It's a fairly intensive sport, but the beautiful natural environment in which the swamps lie somehow brings you to complete rest". Soon you will be able to join a swamp football club in many more places in Infinitum. Swamp football is, despite being a fairly intensive sport, a sport that can be played by young and old, man and women. Alec: "I am enormously honoured that the sport that my friends and I invented for fun is now officially recognised. I could never have dreamed of this.
