The water Nymph
A long time ago there was no blooming nature in Infinitum, but that changed when the water nymph came to Infinitum.
A million years ago water nymphs lived in the sea bordering Infinitum. They all lived there happily among the plants and animals in the sea when one day, a million years ago, there was a very big storm at sea.
At that time the water nymphs had to flee to land if they wanted to survive the storm, and so they ended up in Infinitum. When after a few days the storm had passed, all the nymphs returned to the sea, except 1 nymph did not dare return to the sea because she was afraid that she would not survive another storm. She wandered for a few days on the beaches of Infinitum and found a luminous wand, this wand she kept with her to have light during the dark lonely nights.
The nymph wandered lonely further into Infinitum noticing that there was no nature, which is necessary for a nymph as they live in the water and between plants. One evening the nymph was so frustrated because nowhere in Infinitum did she find a beautiful piece of nature to live in that she shouted as loudly as she could "My deepest wish is that there are areas of nature all over this land, with swamps and rivers so that I can live here with all my other nymphs"! And then, wonderfully, the luminous wand began to make her wish come true. Everywhere in Infinitum there were beautiful nature reserves, swamps and rivers.
All the nymphs left the sea and came to live in the nature reserves of Infinitum because it was much safer.
Today nymphs are already out of existence for a long time, but Infinitum still has the beautiful nature areas that the nymph wished for on that particular night.
The chymeras of Infinitum
As all stories begin: “A long long time ago”, when Infinitum was only just becoming Infinitum, the country had to deal with creatures. These weren’t just any creatures, but they were chimaeras. A chimaera is a creature with a mixture of different genetics. These chimaeras were part human and part vampire. The difference with a thoroughbred vampire is that they can only survive with human blood while the chimaeras from Infinitum could survive with normal food as well.
You’re probably wondering how these chimaeras got in Infinitum, but they didn’t just get in Infinitum. They were made! The search for eternal life has been the breath of life for every inhabitant in Infinitum. During the investigations to offer the inhabitants of Infinitum eternal life, something went wrong with one of the subjects. This subject got the blood of a vampire, but they didn’t know she was pregnant. Nine months later, when she gave birth, they discovered something genetically wrong with the baby. It was half-human and half-vampire. Without further studies, they decided to make more chimaeras, by injecting pregnant women with the blood of vampires. But this didn’t end well.
As the chimaera babies grew larger, the urge for human blood increased. Even though they could survive with normal food, the urge for blood was too big. Thousands of inhabitants were brutally murdered and only years later they finally invented a device that would allow them to find out who was a chimaera and who wasn’t. This device made a sharp sound that only the chimaeras could hear, this caused the chimaeras to pass out. During the traditional feast of Nature Day, where everyone comes together, the government of Infinitum decided to use the device and track the chimaeras. All the chimaeras they found were locked in an underground basement where they were later executed one by one.
Till this day on we still don’t know if any chimaeras are living among us. So maybe, who knows you will bump into a chimaera one day without even noticing it.
