Earlier today (27/11), officials of Eldaro and Infinitum sat together in the neutral UBN capital to negotiate the approach of the new Renoxis virus. Eldaro doctors found that the virus evolved into a version without symptoms.  

 

Following on that breakthrough, the Eldaro government withdrew their earlier statement, in which they accused Infinitum of concealing the outbreak of a new, unknown virus. Infinitum still advises other countries to close their borders as this evolved virus can still spread. Eldaro and Infinitum have come to an agreement in the development of treatments against the disease. On the short term, Eldaro will close its borders for one week. This is the estimated time for them to produce and distribute their health potions that will be adapted to the evolved virus. Eldaro cannot produce nor distribute their health potions internationally within the timeframe that is needed, which is why Infinitum will create a vaccine for other countries to administer should outbreaks occur.  In the long run scientists of both countries came together to find out how to scale up the manufacturing and distribution of these health potions.

 

The expert in Eldaro is Iniah Morgan, head of the Health Research Team of the Eldaro National Hospital. She stated that she had never seen this variant of the virus before. "I have never seen carriers of the virus showing no symptoms. Normally, it is clear who is infected with the virus as we can identify some important symptoms, which is not possible with the evolved version of the virus. This will allow the virus to spread very quickly and unnoticed". 

 

"What is important to remember is that those who have no symptoms and yet are infected may as well be injured by the virus or, at worst, die from it. So, it is very important that everyone gets a health potion". 

 

Eldaro wants to start distributing new health potions throughout the country as soon as possible. As it will take at least a week to spread the health potions throughout Eldaro, the experts are advising the country to close its borders in the coming week. "Closing the borders is very important to ensure that the virus does not spread to the other UBN countries," says Morgan. 

 

Infinitum wants to help Eldaro in the fight against this virus. It has a lot of excellent scientific technologies that could be useful in the fight against this virus. Expert Maude Lebowki, researcher of environmental epidemiology in Infinitum: "Infinitum has several scientific models to combat a virus. For example, we are looking into the possibility of tracing infected people and putting them into a system where people with whom they have been in contact are notified that they may also be infected.” 

 

The expert of Infinitum wrapped up her briefing with a comforting statement: "Finally, we would also like to say that people should not be afraid of this virus. The cooperation between Infinitum and Eldaro is going very smoothly and we have this virus under control."
